Marari

Kerala’s coast, with room to do very little

About Marari

Marari, at Mararikulam on the Kerala coast, is a place to pause rather than add another round of sightseeing. Fishing boats, coconut palms and a long beach give the days their shape. After the hills and backwaters, The Spice Coast ends here with a villa stay, time in the garden and a quiet evening by the Arabian Sea. Sea conditions vary; a beach stay need not mean swimming.

Best time to visit: November to March for the more settled coastal season. Rain and rough seas are more likely during the monsoon.

Worth arranging

  • Early walks along the beach
  • Time in a coastal garden or by the pool
  • A final unhurried evening by the Arabian Sea
