About Bandhavgarh

Bandhavgarh National Park is long considered one of India's most reliable parks for tiger sightings, its core zone dense with prey and criss-crossed by ravines. A ruined hilltop fort, home to rock-cut sculptures and caves dating back over a thousand years, watches over the reserve and can be visited where access allows, adding a layer of history to what is primarily a wildlife destination.

Best time to visit: November to April; the core zones with the strongest sighting records fill quickly, so safari permits are best arranged well ahead of travel.

Worth arranging

  • Safaris through Bandhavgarh's core zone with a private naturalist
  • A ruined hilltop fort with rock-cut sculptures, where access allows
  • One of India's strongest tiger-sighting records
